Kozhikode Star Restaurant

Kozhikode Star in Qusais is a spacious spot that can comfortably accommodate 50+ guests and serves truly authentic South Indian cuisine. Every dish we tried — whether chicken or beef — was exceptional. Portions are generous enough to share between two people, and the pricing is very reasonable. Service is impressively quick, and the food arrives fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The Kerala paratha was perfectly fluffy and delicious, pairing beautifully with the chicken stew and beef curry, both of which were standout dishes. One operational improvement I’d suggest is addressing the presence of house flies, which were noticeable during the visit. Given the quality of the food and overall experience, this is a small but important issue that can easily be resolved to elevate the dining environment even further.

We came across For Chicken Grill the other day, and Mr. Vishakh politely informed us that the authentic Shawai wasn’t available at the Al Qusais branch, so we chose not to order anything. And left. Actually he gave us the comfort to refuse Surprisingly, that honesty itself made us want to revisit. His hospitality and the way he guided us in choosing food based on our mood truly stood out. Later today, we visited Kozhikode Star and ordered the seafood platter — and it completely satisfied both our minds and our appetites. Fresh prawns, squid, mussels, king fish, and a large crab fellas arranged and served with great taste and presentation. Delicious food overall, and a special appreciation to Mr. Vishakh for the warm hospitality and he let us choose the best.

Best Malabar food in Dubai hands down! Can confidently tell you can pick anything from their menu and it will be the best you’ve had. Prices are reasonable too. Staff are really courteous as well. Must try: Biriyani, Nice pathiri, nuts milkshake

I recently visited Kozhikode Star Restaurant and had a great dining experience. The highlight for me was the Hamour Fish Fillet starter – perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and served hot. The flavours were spot on, and it set the tone for the rest of the meal. The ambiance is pleasant but littlw noise due to crowd, the service is quick, and the staff is attentive. Whether you're visiting for Kerala-style dishes or just craving good seafood, this place is definitely worth trying. There was a long wait time specially during the weekend.

​"I visited Calicut Star in Al Qusais today with my family, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. We tried the fish egg fry, It clearly wasn't prepared with fresh ingredients and tasted spoiled which was disappointing in terms of taste. I informed the waiter, and I really appreciate that they removed it from our bill—the service recovery was professional. ​However, the overall flavor profile didn't work for us. If you love extremely spicy food, you might enjoy it, but for me, the spice level was overwhelming and masked the actual taste of the dishes. Despite the high reputation, the food simply didn't meet our expectations."

Good options. We had breakfast, but the veg curry was not cooked well. The other food was good.

I ordered the ghee rice combo from Kozhikodu Star, Al Qusais, and unfortunately it was below average. The ghee rice itself was okay, but the lagoon chicken curry that came with it didn’t match the rice at all. The curry had an unexpected sweet taste, which didn’t go well with the dish. Overall, the combo didn’t meet my expectations and needs improvement in both taste and pairing
