Zayed Sports City Ice Rink

This Ice Rink is an Olympic-size rink inside the Zayed Sports City complex in Abu Dhabi, surrounded by many other sports facilities. We visit occasionally for skating events and competitions. It’s quite impressive that it was built in the late 80s but still looks modern and well maintained after renovations. It’s a great venue for both figure skating and ice hockey. There’s arena-style seating with good views, a few snack bars inside for quick food and drinks, and proper dressing rooms. There’s also a hockey shop; it would be nice to have a figure skating shop too. The crew here are always very friendly, which we really appreciate. They don’t have skating aids for kids or beginners, though. Public sessions sometimes start later due to private training. Entry is about 85 AED on weekdays and around 110 AED on weekends and holidays. There’s a huge parking area, so access is easy. Since it’s not inside a mall, there’s not much to do right after skating, but there are other sports facilities and bowling nearby within the complex. Overall, a solid and reliable rink for events and competitions.

We went here during the ISU Junior tournament. The facilities were built many many years ago and the signs of age are quite obvious. Staff are very polite and helpful and it has very good pizza and a convenience store.

Nice place for the kids to excersize, and burn some calories. However, the price hike from 55 to 85 and 110 AED made hard to mid class families to come in weekly basis.

I visited Zayed Sports City Ice Rink and found it quite outdated. The facility needs renovation, the equipment should be upgraded to newer, more professional standards, and there should be more restaurant options. With improvements, it could be a much better experience.

So the place is amazing the staff are amazing and everything but the price is not 110? For 1 hour and a half is outrageous when the price used to be just 50aed and they don’t have any discounts not faza nothing the lady’s day is indeed amazing we’re not allowed to take pics and staff warn any girl taking pics to stop. The place should stop being greedy and return to there original price cause this is unfair for the citizens who used to come at least 1s a month like me although there is a price change nothing else changed so the price raise is not fair

Very nice experience in Abu Dhabi, the only shame was that they didnt offer the beginners support kit (penguins), yet my kids enjoyed the trip

Went because I didn't ice skate for over a month, because I got stuck in abu dhabi. so I figured let's get some practice run in so I don't forget how to do it. It was actually a really nice place. The rental skates were properly sharp which is rare. The only thing which is slightly annoying is that I couldn't find the time blocks online. So we had to eighter wait or miss half an hour of our time block. Since we took rental skates I wouldn't have wanted to be on the ice the entire block anyway but still not ideal.
