Very disappointed with Unicare Medical Centre. After my son's initial consultation, the insurance pre-approval request was apparently forgotten and never submitted. During the follow-up visit, we were assured that it would be sent immediately and that we would receive an update. However, it has now been more than 3 months, and there has still been no response from either the Doctor the clinic! As a result, the diagnostic test required to identify my son's condition has been unnecessarily delayed. Even after two visits, they completely neglected to update us on the status of the approval or the next steps in the treatment plan which is highly irresponsible and unprofessional. It felt like there was no intention to properly follow through on treatment and thier priority is not the cure of my Son! Our experience gave the impression that the clinic is not genuinely patient-focused. Without meaningful improvements, patients may find it difficult to place their trust with this clinic.

Dr. Shoba is one of the best dermatologists in the UAE. She explained clearly the reasons behind my skin problems and made sure that I fully understood my condition. What impressed me the most is that with just one look, she already knew my situation and immediately identified the things I need to avoid. She is very knowledgeable, professional, and caring toward her patients. Highly recommended.

I’m not sure why the overall rating is so high, as experiences can vary greatly from person to person. Unfortunately, mine was not positive. I visited a doctor for a nerve/neck issue that was causing shock-like sensations in my legs. In hindsight, it was my mistake to rely only on the general reviews without checking the doctor’s specific expertise. The consultation felt more focused on recommending tests in their area of specialization rather than addressing my actual symptoms. Despite having unusual symptoms, I still don’t have a clear diagnosis. I have good insurance coverage, but none of the prescribed medicines were approved because they required supporting lab test reports. I requested the necessary tests, but they were never recommended—yet medication was still prescribed, which made little sense. No meaningful tests or physiotherapy were suggested (guess therapist on leave) and as per Dr they can recommend only internal phsio and dont have option to recommend outside of UMC. One test recommended that wasn’t relevant but I went ahead with anyways as i talked about 5% symptom of related test. The process was slow, requiring repeated follow-ups. In comparison, I found Aster to be more efficient in this regard. I have decided to go with other options offcourse not at UMC but something much better...

I am writing to express my strong disappointment regarding the delay in receiving my typhoid report. It has now been a full week since the sample was collected, and I am still awaiting the results. Delaying a medical report for this long is highly unprofessional and poses a serious risk to patient care, as treatment cannot be properly managed without these results. This is certainly not the correct way to handle patient diagnostics. Please share the report immediately upon receiving this email. If there is a further delay, I expect a clear explanation and an immediate escalation of this matter. Awaiting your prompt response.
