I had a very disappointing experience at the Iraqi Consulate in Dubai. On Monday 18th May 2026, I visited to apply for an Iraqi passport. I completed the entire process, submitted all documents, and paid 280 AED. The staff member told me to return the following day to collect my passport. After I went home, I received a phone call informing me that my application had been rejected because I first need to apply for an Iraqi ID through the Iraqi Embassy in Abu Dhabi. They claimed this new law had only come into effect on Sunday 17th May 2026 — literally the day before my appointment. What is frustrating is that they still processed my application and took my payment despite apparently already knowing about this new requirement. How can staff not be aware of important legal changes before accepting applications and money from people? I work in a school and cannot easily take time off during the week, especially since the embassy is closed on weekends. I have now wasted my time, money, and leave from work. To make matters worse, they have refused to refund my 280 AED, and nobody answers the phone despite repeated calls since Monday. Very poor communication, lack of professionalism, and no accountability.
Super fast service, I received my documents within less than 10 minutes. Thank you and appreciate your fantastic efforts
Very efficient fast process and very kind people, I arrived at 10:30 for passport renewal, finished at 10:50, they said I will receive my new passport tomorrow.
Very disappointing experience at the Iraqi Consulate in Dubai. I visited the consulate to apply for an Iraqi passport and arrived at 11:30 AM, only to be turned away because the office was "too busy," despite the fact that official closing time is 1:00 PM. There is no clear booking system, no prior notification, and no guidance on when people should arrive or whether services will stop before closing time. This results in people wasting hours of their day for no valid reason. Many of us have work, family, and other responsibilities. The staff showed no sense of responsibility or urgency, and there was a clear lack of organization and care for the public. This is unacceptable for a government service. The Iraqi government should seriously investigate the operations of this consulate and implement a proper appointment and queue management system, as this consulate represents Iraq and currently gives a very poor image of our country abroad. This review is written as an official complaint, in the hope that real changes will be made.
Very bad experience swear allah lady make me wait from 2 days now …. She came in embassy around 12 then sit on bench for 10 mint only say yallah come tomorrow pay Cbi bank nothing explain the process…. Today after clarifying from 3 people … come again with cbi payments receipt… reach here 10:30 she say 2 word yallah yallah come tomorrow …. Continuously busy with friend talking laughing ignoring clients,…. Humble request to management we all are facing problems here regarding papers … plsss check camera & with responsible people what’s going on here …. During I sit at this place I met 2 iraqi & some other nationality people … all are facing issue… lady is ultra aggressive … and humbly I am saying we were very polite during our conversation with her … unnecessary ultra aggressive nature ….
I had the absolute pleasure of being assisted by Savannah, Zainab, and Entisar, and I cannot speak highly enough about the level of service they provided. From start to finish, they demonstrated remarkable professionalism, patience, and a genuine willingness to help. What stood out the most was their attentiveness and calm demeanor, even when things became complex or required extra time. They never made me feel rushed or overlooked, and they took the time to ensure every question was answered thoroughly and clearly. Their teamwork was seamless, and it was evident that they all shared the same commitment to delivering excellent customer care. Savannah, Zainab, and Entisar went above and beyond to make the experience smooth and stress-free. Their kindness and understanding made a real difference, and it’s rare to encounter such a consistently helpful and courteous team. Thank you all for your patience, your dedication, and for setting such a high standard of service. It truly made a lasting impression!
